Ayoung Yoon is an Associate Professor at Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering, Department of Library and Information Science, Indiana University Indianapolis (IUI). She was an RDA/US data share fellow for 2016-2017. She holds a PhD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and MSI from the University of Michigan. She is also a founding member of Data to Action Lab at Luddy Indianapolis (http://data.soic.iupui.edu/) and serves as a director during the founding year, 2018-2019.
Her research advances a socio-technical framework for strengthening data curation practices across both scientific and civic contexts, from designing integrity-enabling research data infrastructures to reconceptualizing libraries as community data intermediaries. The goal is to ensure that data can be meaningfully interpreted, shared, and reused by diverse communities, including researchers, practitioners, and local civic actors.
